RCAF Airwomen’s Reunion 15

Former RCAF women have been getting together every second year since 1990. The Reunions were originally attended by airwomen veterans from the 1950s and 1960s, but, have expanded to include all military women who were in the Air Force, who were in air trades, or who wore the blue uniform from the 1970s until the present. The 15th Reunion is being held in Winnipeg, September 13 to 15 at the Hilton Winnipeg Airport Suites.

The theme for this year’s reunion is Reconnecting. After a couple of postponements due to COVID restrictions, we are ready to go. That being said, we are mindful of social distancing and other measures to ensure everyone’s safety in our event planning.

The location changes for each reunion and events are planned to showcase the host city. Two evening dinners, featuring local entertainers, are being held in the hotel. A morning trip is scheduled where attendees and guests can take a “Journey to Churchill” at the Assiniboine Zoo to observe polar bears in a unique underwater setting. Lists of other Winnipeg attractions will be provided for those who wish to take in some of Winnipeg’s other attractions. Day three includes a service and a brunch with all attendees and guests.

Lots of opportunities are available to greet old friends and to make some new friends. Get to know many of the women who lived history and hear from women in active roles in today’s RCAF.

The RCAF Women’s Reunion Association is a non profit organization and the executive committee and event planning committee are all volunteers. The costs of the reunion are covered by the registration fee and by donations from various local organizations.

More details on the Reunion, registration forms and a list of those who are attending can be found on our website at https://rcafairwomen.ca. If you are in Winnipeg and are interested in volunteering for this event, we would be very happy to hear from you. Our contact information is also found on the website.
