National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign
NDWCC
In 2023 DND reached its goals of being 100% canvassed and raising over $2 million through NDWCC, which accounted for ~7% of the $28.9 million raised in total through the GCWCC to support our communities, across the country.
For the 2024 National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign (NDWCC), our Champion LGen Eric Kenny, Commander RCAF, we will “Take Flight for Good”.
Our goal is to raise $60,000 dollars for charities in Winnipeg and across Canada that support:
-
those less fortunate;
-
diversity groups;
-
mental health and medical research; and
-
organizations with strong ties to Canada’s military.

"Outbound Lancaster"
Framed print by Gerald Coulson
This classic image of a Lancaster of Bomber Command depicts the aircraft crossing the English coast on its way to a bombing mission in Europe. The original was painted by Coulson in 1977.
Gerald Davison Coulson (1926-2021) was a professional painter of aviation subjects for over 50 years. Coulson's first love was aircraft, studying and drawing them at every opportunity, from an early age. His apprenticeship as an aircraft engineer, then as an RAF Technician and later an engineer with British Airways, allowed him an insight and intimate knowledge of the aircraft he paints.
He combined this with his drawing ability to become a Technical Illustrator of service manuals for Civil and Military Aircraft. His ability to capture these aircraft on canvas led to a painting career, which he took up full time in 1969; his work has been highly sought after ever since. A Vice President and founder member of the Guild of Aviation Artists he was a four times winner of the Flight International Trophy for outstanding aviation painting.
