Health Promotion
CFB Winnipeg’s Health Promotion is here to help members of our community be their best version of themselves. Whether it is by taking one of our courses or briefings or joining us in one of our out of classroom activities we hope to make the healthy choice the easy choice.
Our courses and workshops are free to all members of the Defense Team and their adult family members. They are preventative in nature and provide you with the tools you need to lead healthy lives. These courses fall under 4 core areas: Social Wellness, Nutritional Wellness, Addictions Free Living and Active Living/Injury Prevention. The full catalogue of our courses is offered at least once every quarter.
When not in the classroom, Health Promotion is working with the military community and our CFMWS partners to offer programming/activities that support health & wellness. This includes visiting units, completing health & wellness audits, championing inclusive environments, infrastructure projects to promote active living, and working with messes to provide low-risk drink options.

Hello and welcome to December!
We hope you all have an opportunity to rest and recharge over the holiday season.
Thank you to everyone who tracked their screen time last month as part of the CFB Winnipeg Wellness Challenge! We know that it can be difficult to keep our recreational screen time under 3 hours a day with the Grey Cup, F1 or following your favourite hockey team. Hopefully, you have been able to gain some insight into how much time you do spend recreationally on screens throughout your day.
It’s not too late to join. Use this link to go to Race Roster to register: 2025 — CFB Winnipeg Wellness Challenge — Race Roster — Registration, Marketing, Fundraising.
December’s challenge is to drink at least 1.5 litres of water each day. With the holidays there is usually an abundance of beverages available to sample, from pop, alcohol, eggnog, or punches. These can be high in sugars and calories. Therefore, we encourage you to drink water daily. There is no magic formula for the perfect water for everyone. It is very individual. So, drink right out of the tap or from a cooler, have it with ice, use a straw or flavour your water. Whatever makes your water distinct for you is the right way to drink it.
There are no courses for December, however, coming in January, we will be back in the classroom.
The following courses are available for registration on Bookking at 17 Wing PSP Online - Public Access: (posters attached)
