Nothing But Praise

In November 2022, Nadine Kelly joined Com Rec as the Community Recreation Administrative Assistant.

The decision to relocate her family to Winnipeg last August was one she doesn’t regret. Always keeping a positive outlook, she keeps busy doing plenty of activities around the city with her eight-year-old son Luca. They love Winnipeg because there is so much to see and do. “We recently went to the Christmas show that the RCAF Band did at the Burton Cummings Theatre. It was fantastic. The performances were amazing.”

Matt Hamilton, Manager, Community Recreation, has nothing but praise for Ms. Kelly. “She brings a lot of experience working for PSP elsewhere,” he said. “She’s doing a great job of being part of our team.”

Born in Dublin, Ireland, Nadine’s family moved to Prince Edward Island when she was just four years old. “A few years later, we moved to England where my dad got some great work opportunities and then back to Ireland. In 2006, I moved to Canada starting out in Halifax, Nova Scotia.”

She’s been working with Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services for three years now. “I started at CFB Petawawa, ON where I was a gym supervisor.” After moving to Winnipeg, she started working at the CANEX part-time and got on with the gym as a casual front desk employee. “I really loved it there,” Ms. Kelly said. “I stayed and moved up and eventually got my current position.”

She also added that people should check Com Rec’s Facebook Page and other notices because “there are going to be a lot of things coming up” in the next few months. Com Rec is always doing great things for the military community—and hiring the best people for the job.
